Khmer Software Initiative

The openSUSE 11.2 has released for a while ago, It includes new versions of GNOME, KDE, OpenOffice.org, Firefox, the Linux kernel, and many, many more updates and improvements. Now it is available in KhmerOS office. If you want it, you can come to our office with a blank DVD and CD for burning.

Etch is the codename for the upcoming release of Debian, that will be released around December at the end of this year. KhmerOS team finished translating Debian Installer. And now it is available for testing, I have tested and noticed that it look fine for Khmer language. Please see the screenshot attached.

On 23rd of Sep at 14:30-15:00, Jens gave a talk about the experiences from KDE localization process in Cambodia, some people concentrate on this and many queries arise but a few questions were not answered because of the time is limited. And on the 26th of Sep at 15:00-17:00 we met with people from Asia (Cambodia, China,Korea and India), Mr. Cornelius is the KDE e.V Vice president and a man from Linux New Media to share the experiences about opensource in each countries.
