Nokia Khmer phone in Cambodia
Best regards,CRT
Nokia 5000 supported Khmer Unicode as well.
Best regards,CRT
New Nokia 1680 support Khmer Unicode.
As Nokia offer Khmer Unicode to less feature phone like Nokia 1680. I'll give up Nokia branch to use Apple branch instead. I expect to use the rich feature phone (Computer like feature), such as Apple iPhone. The Second Generation iPhone widely expect to release on June 9, 2008 at WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference). Accommodate with iPhone 2.0 firmware, that allow Khmer developer to write software that let Khmer Unicode work with iPhone.I feel bored and tired to wait Nokia to support Khmer Unicode in Nokia Nserie.Best regards,CRT

Congratualtion to Nokia and
Congratualtion to Nokia and Khmer Unicode... --------------------------------------------- Introducing Cambodia to the world...
I'm now using the second
I'm now using the second one. It costs around $60.
I feel regret...
Why Nokia offer Khmer Language for Nokia phone that those 3 phones almost equal 100$us? Why don't they embed to Nokia Nseries? Does Nokia look down Cambodia's people?
Khmer in Symbian Phone
These 4 phones are not Symbian OS. You can go to symbian.com to see more detail, only few language that support Symbian OS... Vietnamese and Thai just added last year. For Cambodia... may be soon...!
for me, i think nokia did
for me, i think nokia did the right thing. as far as i know, some ppl don't like to use khmer software or khmer phone. the reason is they want to learn english. they want to improve their english. i happen to laugh as i hear that. however, we can't force someone to do thing that they don't like.in addition, it is in the trial period. if lot of ppl support khmer in nokia phone i believe that there will be more phone built for Khmer.
It's wrong.
Cambodians like Khmer Unicode phone, as we can send MMS, SMS in Khmer, we do not want to write Latin as Khmer (Toe Neak Sok Sabay Chea Te? = How are you?). We are Cambodians feel delight to have Nokia Khmer Unicode phones, but How can we use those low-end phones? The phones (Nokia 2630, Nokia 2760, Nokia 1650, Nokia 2600 classic) have no expandable memory card! Those phones has no 3G! Those phones have poor build quality! Now the Cambodia economy is progressively going up! Cambodia GDP rank 91th, The real grow rate, Cambodia ranks 7th. Cambodia now still is a poor country, but Cambodians well adopt the new technology! We have 3G in the phones, we can check Internet through the phones, we can send MMS through the phones, we can chat in the phones. As I know Cambodians almost use the Mid to High end phone's products! Because Cambodians like to play music in their mobile. The result now many new phone operator come to invest in Cambodia! I think the telecommunication will be expand very fast, now there are more than one million mobile phone subscriber, next year it maybe double! Finally if Nokia want to trial Khmer Phone in Cambodia, they should embed Khmer from low end to high end phone. Why Cambodian do not choose Nokia Khmer phone when they can switch the language between Khmer and English? If someone want to study English they can switch to English Interface, however they can write Khmer even they use English UI and they can receive Khmer Message as well. For someone that prefer Khmer Language, they can use Khmer Interface.Do you know my Nokia N81 8GB has only English and Vietnamese language? But it can display Thai, Arabic, Russian......
wow
It's very interesting to know about Nokia N81 8GB have only English and VN but also can displya Thai, Arabic, Russian,... and more.Well I agreed with XYZ for the user to switch to any language interface as they wish. I have a question if Nokia above (the picture) using Khmer Unicode does it displays the Khmer Unicode from the Khmer site using khmer unicode? If it does then it's great! One more thing, the Mobile market is getting wider and wider and if Khmer unicode only for a few model of Nokia, how about the user using other brand of handphone like Motorola, SonyEricson, ....? When will the unicode available for those kind of model? When will be the lanaguage pack that we can just install to the phone and use the khmer unicode?
We cannot access the web by those phones!
That's why I cannot say, it will be display Khmer or not! If Nokia embed Khmer to Nokia 3G phone, I think we can read Khmer Unicode website though those phones.Currently if I want to send Khmer Message I need to use Computer, connect to the phone through Nokia PC suite, then compose Khmer message. When I received Khmer SMS I need to connect the phone to Computer again! Ha... very tired.... WhY? Why don't they (Nokia, Sony Ericsson) embed Khmer to my phone?
yeah it is a bit tired but
yeah it is a bit tired but we are proud that you can find all the way to do so.Nokia,Sony Ericsson are the companies. they do things for money. so Mr.Money will help to answer why khmer is not embedded in those phones?--------------------------------------------- Introducing Cambodia to the world...
Of course it's money matter!
But in fact, we (Cambodian) also spend money to them! We never ask their phone's product for free! We buy Nokia phone! We buy Sony Ericsson's phone! If they think Cambodia use not so much phone products, they are wrong! Because many phones import illegally from other country, so they think those country use many phone, however in fact those phones imported to Cambodia.
Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson also display other language, even it comes with English/ Vietnames User Interface only!
hi, Bro Piseth the decision
hi, Bro Piseth the decision of including khmer unicode in the phone is not from us. it is from the company manager or who take charge on it. i think bussiness ppl are clever, everything they do is for money. so no need to wonder. only khmeros who does thing for free and somethimes gets the blame from users. :D --------------------------------------------- Introducing Cambodia to the world...
Nokia is under progress
as I know nokia is under progress but other maybe not , I wish it will be available for symbain soon
I am using 2600 classic
I just bought it last friday. I waited for long time to use symbian in Khmer. My patience is limited. I cannot wait for something like this for years. I love this phone very much. It is a basic phone with bluetooth enabled and EGPRS. Well, you may be bored because it is not 3G phone but it has everything that a 2.5G basic phone should have. I love writing in Khmer like in SMS, MMS, and contact. My parents are interested in it. They do not know English, so the phone help them write and read easily. For old people, it is helpful and it is fun for youth. Therefore, I will buy for my mother, and my parents in law soon. Brilliant Nokia! Please release more Khmer enabled phone.
