Khmer Software Initiative

For Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, most computers cannot type some Khmer vowels such as ោះ ាំ ុំ ុះ etc. Don’t worry just follow this instruction, you’ll get it.

Open file “enviroment”, /etc/enviroment

Add this line : GTK_IM_MODULE=”xim”

Save and Restart Ubuntu

After the hard tried of a few people of KhmerOS project before the Khmer new year, finally we got the new operating system (besides openSUSE) in Khmer- It is the long term support Ubuntu.
If you want to try with this Khmer OS, you can download from: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
Or you can make an ISO file from KhmerOS Office.

We are now translating the cross-plateform GIS Application called gvSIG -is a Geographic Information System (GIS), that is, a desktop application designed for capturing, storing, handling, analyzing and deploying any kind of referenced geographic information in order to solve complex management and planning problems. gvSIG is known for having a user-friendly interface, being able to access the most common formats, both vector and raster ones.

The new release of operating system- openSUSE 12.1 will be available for all users very soon. The public release is on 16 Nov, 2011.

The latest operating system in Khmer "openSUSE 12.1" now available at KhmerOS. If anyone want to copy this latest OS, Please bring one blank DVD and one blank CD to KhmerOS Office under the Open Institute (#19, St. 374, Sangkat TuolSvay Prey1, Khan Chamkar Morn) we will burn for you free of charge.

May 31, 2006: The KDE Project announced the immediate availability of KDE 3.5.3, a maintenance release for the latest generation of the most advanced and powerful free desktop for GNU/Linux and other UNIXes. In this release, you'll find more application translated in Khmer such as Kopete, the instant messenger and chatting program, and Kmail, the email program. Hi all, Now you can read and get yahoo mail via Moyura. This is the way to configure in Moyura.
- Setting First you need to install YPOPs, a program that creates mail server for Yahoo mail and Moyura. You can click here to download this program.
